Created in 2013 by Dr Delphine Bouard, Vetsalius offers technical services, such as:

On site surgery or other technical gesture services
Vetsalius can perform on site surgeries. Other technical gestures (sampling, targeted injection, anesthesia, terminal collection) could also be provided on site. Several different models are available in rodents, rabbits, sheep, goats, dogs, pigs and minipigs and NHPs. Prior to on-site sessions, on-site meetings and/or teleconferences are planned to allow optimal session preparation (identification of requested material, surgery timing, lab organization, establishment of a perioperative care program).
Training courses
On site surgery session could also be organized, for surgical techniques as well as for other technical challenges. If training on site is not the best option, alternative solutions can be identified. Vetsalius experts have many contacts all over Europe. Local sessions could be organized at partners’ sites all over Europe as well as in the US.

Help regarding the development, the refinement and/or validation of surgical model or other in vivo techniques could also be provided, in compliance with the 3Rs.

Please do not hesitate to contact Vetsalius for any specific demands. Contact us.

Why « Vetsalius » ?
It is a play on words: a reference to the veterinarian world and a tribute to Vesalius, also named André Vesale. Vesalius was born in 1514 in Brussel and died in Zante Island (Greece) in 1564. Vesalius was one of the greatest anatomist of the Renaissance. He is considered as the scientist who revolutionized anatomy by correcting the work initiated by Galen (ancient Greece). He wrote one of the most innovative book on human anatomy, De humani corporis fabrica.
